Chicago, IL -- After failed starter marriages, Nic and Chris struggle to connect between their day jobs and night lives. When Nic's ex-husband, Mike, appears to rekindle their college band, Chris wrestles to give his wife the space to be a "true" artist, without letting her get away from the plans he's set for their future.

Another Young Couple — borne out of a camera test for If Beale Street Could Talk, James and I asked my friends Essence and Jihaari, newly transplanted to LA to allow us into their home for an afternoon tea about their lives and loves, apart and together. We were migrating to the Alexa 65 for Beale Street and wanted to see for ourselves how that large-format sensor would affect intimate portraiture within lived spaces… in particular the faces and spaces of Black folk.

A young married couple - both of them actors - work in the divided city of Berlin. Agnes, the young woman, is on location in East Berlin, and Jochen, her husband, works at the Westend Theater in West Berlin. This young marriage is in danger of breaking up as they vehemently defend their diametrically opposed views. The way they see politics, art and the world differs extremely.

Kostya and Olya are university teachers. On vacation at a sanatorium, Olya found a more respectable partner for herself - Sergey. He is a wealthy man obsessed with a healthy lifestyle and active sports. Upon arrival, Olya leaves a note for her husband and leaves the house, blocking all contact with Kostya. Sergey has a daughter, Sonya. Kostya finds nothing better than to try to start an affair with her in order to gain access to Sergey and his new lover. Sonya does not find Kostya very attractive. However, the opportunity to irritate her father at a dinner with her potential stepmother seems tempting. After all, her father recently kicked out her boyfriend Maks for "not being serious."
